I was never tardy to the #AlDub 'Fever'. I don't get to watch television during lunch break because
- Although, we have a tv in the office, I am at no liberty to tune it onto a channel I like. At least I haven't tried asking.
- I do not have a cellphone with television (that Cherry Mobile was one rad phone)
Regardless, I have aunts who are allies (moonlighting as pro-bono pushy marketers) of GMA 7 shows, one of which is EAT Bulaga, no less than an institution of a TV program, being the Philippines' longest-running noontime variety show. Way before it was picked up by magazine show (which is very pop! on-trend) Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho and by newspaper sections I read regularly, i.e. Philippine Star SUPREME, one particular aunt was buzzing as my source about the whole fuss sweeping the archipelago.
The Kalyeserye segment features the AlDub, the love team of actor-host Alden Richards + Dubsmash (basically, a highly popular app for dubbing) sensation “Yaya Dub.” Read as: undoubtedly GMA 7's effective answer to ABS CBN's very successful KathNiel and JaDine.
Curious, I tuned in once when our office Sir decided to also kill his curiosity. Wally Bayola as contravida Lola Nidora is a riot! TV's new 'hottest' loveteam, hmmm. I happened to watch the second time, and still the same thoughts. Basta, ayaw ko pong makuyog. Let me just say they're cute.
I may not be into them as a tandem (at least I am not yet a convert), but, as individuals, they seem cool.

Yaya Dub is Maine Mendoza IRL, one of the front runners of the social media favorite Dubsmash. Boy, her viral 'dubs' of various Kris Aquino moments are hilarious!
As per the same particular aunt, she went to De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde and took International Hospitality with an internship in New York where dreams are made of, to boot.

It doesn't hurt that she's pretty.
And need I say more about Alden Richards?
