Photodump: Bruce Jenner Through The Years

When I was in college, I was a couch potato, and cable tv was my bff. My guilty pleasure is reality-based shows. We love reality shows, don't we? And it was then when Bruce Jenner came to my consciousness on a little show called Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

For my generation (hey old fart), he is known as the step-father to Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob, the father of Kylie and Kendall, and was the second husband of momager Kris Kardashian (Kris was his third wife).

To earlier reality tv fanatic (cue: feel the rain on your skin no one else can feel for you), he is the father of Brody Jenner. The Hills!

Here is the transformation (no pun intended) of Bruce Jenner in photos:

Ultimate throwback: Highschooler in '68
High school sports star: Bruce, pictured in his 1968 yearbook at Newtown High School in Connecticut, excelled in gymnastics, football, basketbal land athletics as a teen

Watching the show revealed that he was an Olympian, a decathlete, back in the day.
All American hero: Bruce's prowess in the decathlon and stunning victory at the Montreal Olympics in 1976 catapulted him to fame and fortune, and got him on the coveted front of a Wheaties cereal box in 1977

Gold! Proud wife Chrystie, who'd supported Bruce's amateur athletic career through two summer Olympics, was there to see her husband break records and win his gold medal in Montreal in 1976 - four years after he told her about his gender identity issues

First love: Bruce married his college sweetheart Chrystie Crownover in 1972. The couple, who had a son Burt and a daughter Cassandra, separated when she was pregnant with their second child and later divorced. Chrystie was the first to learn about Bruce's gender confusion and has kept his secret. They are seen here at a gala event in New York City in May 1977

Second time around: The star athlete met Linda Thompson as his first marriage crumbled and as soon as his divorce from Chrystie was finalized in January 1981, he and Elvis Presley's former girlfriend tied the knot in Hawaii. The couple, pictured here in June 1980, had two sons together, Brandon and Brody. One day the Olympian walked into the room and told he was a woman. It played a big part in the breakup of their marriage

Bonus: His other kids now
Children: Bruce was supported by his four eldest children - Burt, 36, Casey, 34, Brandon, 33, and Brody, 31 - in tonight's ABC interview

Post-Olympics: The TV actor in a show called CHiPS, as a police officer

Stardom: Around the time he met Linda, the Olympic athlete was fielding TV hosting and acting gigs. In 1981, he briefly replaced Erik Estrada on CHiPS and appeared in six episodes as Officer Steve McLeish

Go West: Bruce, seen here in costume on set, appeared in the 1980 Village People movie Can't Stop The Music

Dressing up: Bruce, left, along with Bob Hope, center, and Merlin Olson brought the house down when they performed in drag at a taping of a Bob Hope TV comedy special in September 1981 in Hollywood

Real man: A shirtless Bruce happily posed on the cover of Playgirl in 1982, with his cleavage baring second wife Linda, as he continued to reap the rewards of his Olympic success. He later told her he thought he was a woman

The obligatory family photo with his 1991 wedding with third wife Kris
Blended family: When Bruce and Kris wed in 1991, their eight children together participated in the ceremony. The happy couple are seen here with Kris' three daughters and one son with her ex-husband Robert Kardashian, Bruce's two sons with Linda and his son and daughter with Chrystie

Way back when Bruce and Kris
Head over heels: Just five months after meeting, Bruce and Kris Kardashian, the ex-wife of famed attorney Robert Kardashian, said their 'I do's' on April 21, 1991.  They had two daughters, Kendall and Kylie. Their marriage lasted 22 years, ending in divorce in December 2014. Bruce said Kris realized something was up when he could no longer hide the fact he'd developed 36B breasts

Take 2 in 1994
Changed his mind: Bruce has talked about transitioning for more than 30 years ago but halted the process he embarked on in the mid-1980s , after his split from Linda, when he met Kris. He quit hormone therapy and married Kris, seen here with him in 1994

Early 2000s with chilren Kylie and Kendall
More kids: Bruce and Kris added two daughters to their blended brood. They're seen here with Kendall and Kylie at a Hollywood red carpet event in 2000

February 2014: Post-laryngeal shave
Transitioning? A frail-looking Bruce (right) was seen leaving a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon's office in February 2014 after reportedly undergoing a 'laryngeal shave' a month earlier.  He has attempted to hide his changing physique in baggy clothing and started wearing women's nail polish, as seen in this photo (left) from early April

And most recently in the 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer
A ratings smash: Nearly 17 million people tuned in on Friday to watch Bruce admit that he identifies as female and plans to completely transform into a woman

The mere yet thoughtful support of the Jenner-Kardashian spawns for him could so far be the most significant thing they have done for humanity.

Future Sperm Donor Prospect of the Day and How to Pronounce a Dutch Name

Take a handsome man, made him wear a suit, give it a floral / Hawaiian print twist, and you get a babely equation.

Meet Michiel Huisman, m.c.k.a. Daario Naharis, Daenerys Targaryen's right-hand man with a great asset in HBO's Game of Thrones.

Bonus: You may want to be able to say his name right, next time.

Haters to the left

On a Zen-like Saturday morning, I saw an FB friend's shared post. Then I shared the original post with my ~mature~ retort:

I love this!! May pag-asa talaga dahil sa mapaglarong tadhana. smile emoticon
Ka inggit mats no?

The cause was this photo that became the talk of the town:

Asian-European gay couple photos went viral

The photo has gained more traction after the infamous social media personality Senyora Santibañez posted about it.

Naparuj 'Mond' Kaendi

The blonde guy has been identified as Mond. Also known as Bemondce, his IG handle, he is Thai guy named Naparuj Kaendi and he’s working as "Creative Director & Senior Booking Agent at Bacca Model Management". He also happens to have a cute man-meat for a boyfriend, a German charming guy named Thorston.

As the tidal wave of both positive and sadly negative reactions has reached his attention, a recent IG post tells that the quietly holding hands in the train photo had a loud online circulation before, in 2014. But in the end, his reaction is still thankful for all the good things he have.

His Instagram has since been reverted as a private user.

UPDATE: Mond speaks up about the viral photo

“Let them be the keyboard bullies,” he said.

We are, or were for even once. Guilty.

Vanness Wu is 5eva Yung

We like reality shows. We really do. We have a thing for cooking shows, beauty competitions and makeovers. Reality-based shows are a good kind of escape.

While us here had a taste of Pilipinas Got Talent in the last couple of years, the first run of Asia's Got Talent via AXN provides a much wider pool of talents from all over this side of the world.

In a nutshell: if you've got something to show the world, you or your group do a big-shot audition. The judges are David Foster, who we know was a mentor of Charice;

Melanie C. -- FYI: She was Sporty Spice;

Anggun (the least familiar in the panel is an Indonesian/French-naturalized singer-songwriter);

and the walang kupas Vanness Wu.

Was he drinking from the fountain of youth?

The show is hosted by Amazing Race Asia's winning duo, Rovilson Fernandez and Marc Nelson.

Photodump: ILOCOzy

And so  for Holy Week 2015, I went for my best-ever kaladkarin trip (so far).

We started the trip from Manila to the North by 5 AM on Maundy Thursday and took the day just for travel. As we near our hotel, the reliever was this bay-view that greeted us.
A photo posted by Egay Velarde (@egayeah) on
Alternative for travel: Do it at night.

One Vittoria is owned by a Bicolana, who is also behind the sikat na pasalubong Marsha's Delicacies.

Alternative for travel: Head straight to Laoag City or Pagudpud.

Actual Day 1 (Good Friday)

Pagudpud

4:30 AM and we were ready for the route to Hannah's Beach.
We arrived by 9 AM and boy the beach was packed. This was where we swam.

Versus Saud Beach Resort, where we intended to eat lunch (but got asked to wait in line for more than an hour or two so backed out). It comes before Hannah's, which is more like a total hideout when it is off-season.

Saud wins for the reason that the shoreline is lined with coconut plants if you need the necessary cover. Meaning: relaxing.

Alternative for lunch: Try Bergblink. Ilocano food by way of a German guy, still absolutely hearty.

Bangui Wind Mills

Mills were under repair when we got there.

Kapurpurawan Rock Formations

Aside from the fancy rocks, this is where you can get closer to really-working wind mills. Plus the solar panel plant could be operating by the next time you visit.

Cape Bojeador

Must visit for sunset views. Glad we were just in time.

Back to One Vittoria. Another 3-4 hours!

Alternative for accommodation: Have your stay in Laoag or by the one of the beach resorts itself.

Day 2 (Saturday)

We started the day with a I had a  yummy champorado and otap.

Ferdinand Marcos's Museum and Mausoleum in his hometown, Batac.

  • He's a very bright individual. His official bar score is at 92.35%
  • He got Imelda Romualdez head over heels in eleven minutes.
  • His remains is covered with seven layers of wax.

Just Try: Batac Town's Special Empanada. Or Bagnet Empanada.

A few steps on the left of the Batac Church. Building on the side of the river with no water. You cannot miss those signboards.
Warning: Toge is not for with high uric acid.

Paoay Church

We head north to try traversing the way to Paoay Lake if you are from Laoag.

Malacañang of the North. Imagine: Gossip Girl's Hamptons staycation, then add a lakeview.

Alternative for travel: From Laoag, start in Malacañang of the North, followed by Sand Dunes, then Paoay Church, next is the Museum and end up having Happy Hours in Calle Crisologo.

Alternative for accommodation: Sleep in one of those heritage hotels in the vicinity.

Try: Nightlife by way of LEGACY Superclub, located in Vigan Heritage Village.

Post-boozing, you get a good view of the famous street, sans the tourists kind of ruining your OOTD shoot.

Day 3 (Easter Sunday)

Started the day right: Mass at Vigan Cathedral.

(To be continued)
